Abstract Objective:To know about nursing undergraduates’ achievement goal orientation and clinical practice behavior, so as to probe into the relationship between them.Method:Stratified cluster sampling method was used, BNS’s Clinical Evaluation Tool( CET) and the Achievement Goal Orientation Scale were used for investigation of 180 nursing undergraduates, related data were analyzed by stepwise regression analysis.Result:The total average score of CET was( 3.738±0.469). The four scale score of achievement goals orientation were : mastery approach( 3.58±0.56),mastery avoidance( 3.25±0.72), performance avoidance( 2.48±0.76), performance approach( 3.53±0.68). The goal orientation of mastery approach was positively correlated with clinical practice behavior. The goal orientation of performance avoidance was negative correlated with clinical practice behavior.Conclusion:Nursing undergraduates’ achievement goal orientation is associated with clinical practice behavior, the achievement goals can forecast clinic practice. In the clinical nursing teaching, teachers should train students’ mastery approach and performance approach goal orientation. And to help nursing students to enhance study motivation, increase learning efficiency and improve their ability of clinical practice.
