Abstract Objective:To examine the effectiveness of scenario simulation training method in improving competency of nursing students in Neurology Care Unit.Method:The study design was cluster sampling method.80 nursing students were samples and divided into 2 groups.The traditional teaching method was performed in the control group(n=40)in the first three months ; the experimental group(n=40) was taught through scenario simulation training method on the basis of traditional teaching method.A questionnaire was applied to the nursing students after finishing the clinical practice in NCU.Data were analyzed using SPSS 17.0.Result:The differences in the following aspects such as the degree of satisfaction with the department and clinical teachers,written and operated examination score,the time for students to master the theory and skills that the teacher had taught,the teaching effect,the degree of promotion and the promotion of personal ability during the process were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Participation in the scenario simulation training can improve nursing students’ competency and the degree of satisfaction with NCU teaching.Scenario simulation is significantly more effective than the traditional in helping nursing students’ knowledge and skills and it is good for the improvement of teaching effect.
