Abstract Objective：To study the puerperant in the basic hospital on the duration of labor， maternal and child health education conditions.Method：321 puerperant in our hospital health education during childbirth from January 2014 to July 2014 were selected as observation group， 320 cases of health education had not served as the control group.The duration of labor， method of delivery， the incidence rate of postpartum hemorrhage and newborn baby asphyxia were observed.Result：The duration of labor， method of delivery， the incidence rate of postpartum hemorrhage and newborn baby asphyxia were significant differences between the two groups（P<0.05）.Conclusion：Puerperant at the basic hospital of the maternal health education during childbirth to shorten labor， reduce the rate of caesarean section， newborn baby asphyxia and postpartum hemorrhage rates， thereby enhancing quality of obstetrics department security.
