Abstract Objective：To evaluate the application effect of laparoscopic operation in the early treatment of elderly patients with acute abdomen.Method：120 patients with acute abdomen admitted to our hospital from May 2013 to March 2014 were selected as research objects，they were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，60 cases in each group.The two groups were given basis drug treatment，the control group was given traditional operation method for treatment on the basis of basis drug treatment，the observation group was given laparoscopic operation for treatment on the basis of basis drug treatment.The surgical treatment effect between the two groups were observed and compared.Result：After treatment，the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.7%，which was significantly higher than 80.0% of the control group，the times of body temperature recovery，abdominal pain，defecation，abdominal distension disappeared，operation time and hospitalization time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group，the intraoperative blood loss was significantly less than the control group，the nursing satisfaction rate of the observation group（88.3%） was significantly higher than 71.7% of the control group，the complication rate of the observation group（ 5.0%） was significantly lower than 30.0% of the control group，the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion：Laparoscopic operation for the treatment of elderly patients with acute abdomen is minimally invasive and safety，with high diagnosis rate，the treatment effect is significant，is worthy of clinical promotion.
