Abstract Objective: To study the effect of diversification nursing mode on sense of coherence-13 (SOC-13) score, Chinese version of acceptance of illness scale (AIS-CHI) score and pulmonary function in elderly patients with chronic persistent of asthma. Method: A total of 80 elderly patients with chronic persistent of asthma admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from December 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects. According to the random number table method, the participants in the study were divided into routine group and management group, with 40 cases in each group. The routine group adopted the routine nursing mode, and the management group adopted the diversification nursing mode based on the routine group. Nursing effect, SOC-13 score, AIS-CHI score and pulmonary function were compared between the two groups. Result: The nursing effect of management group was better than that of conventional group (P<0.05). At discharge and 2 months after nursing, the SOC-13 scores in the management group were higher than those in the conventional group, after 5 days of nursing and at discharge, AIS-CHI scores in the management group were higher than those in the conventional group (P<0.05). After nursing, the pulmonary function indexes in management group were higher than those in conventional group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Applying diversification nursing mode to elderly patients with chronic persistent of asthma can significantly improve their sense of coherence and acceptance of illness, and improve their pulmonary function.
