Abstract Objective: To summarize the barbiturate coma therapy in clinical curative effect and prognosis of severe head trauma. Method: 82 patients of severe craniocerebral trauma were selected in our hospital from February 2013 to August 2014 during the period of accepted the diagnosis and treatment,and randomly divided into two groups,41 cases in each group.The control group were underwent routine therapy, while the experimental group was treated barbiturate coma therapy, at the same time,two groups’ treatment and prognosis were contrasted and analyzed.Result: Two groups 24 hours and 48 hours after treatment gived the real-time monitoring, the test results showed that the two groups in the cavity of cerebrospinal fluid pressure and cerebral blood flow and other clinical indicators were dropped. Compared with control group, the experimental group patients clinical index fell more, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The clinical barbiturate coma therapy on the clinical curative effect and prognosis of severe head trauma effect is significant, in addition to being able to control the cerebrospinal fluid pressure in patients with cranial cavity, maximize the cerebral perfusion, at the same time also can improve the patients’ symptoms of cerebral ischemia or hypoxia,plays a comprehensive protection for the brain, thus it has the high feasibility and is worth promoting.
