Abstract p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase( p38MAPK) is an important member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase( MAPK) superfamily, which is mainly distributed in the cytoplasm and a serine/threonine kinase. It plays an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy( DCM), such as microvascular disease, myocardial fibrosis, cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial apoptosis and so on, which can be activated by a variety of factors. Studying the role of p38MAPK is helpful to further clarify the pathogenesis of DCM, as well as to provide new target for DCM treatment.
