Abstract Objective:To investigate the advantages of minimally invasive locking compression plate fixation in the treatment of elderly intertrochanteric fracture.Method:45 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures who were treated in our hospital from January 2013 to September 2014 were selected, they were divided into study group( n=25) and control group( n=20), according to the treatment methods. The control group were given traditional surgical treatment, while the study group were given minimally invasive locking compression plate fixation treatment.Result:The total efficiency of the study group 96.0%( 24/25) was significantly higher than the control group 70.0%( 14/20)( P<0.05), the operative time, hospital stay, and fracture healing time were significantly shorte(r P<0.05), the blood loss was significantly les(s P<0.05),the postoperative complication rate 16.0%( 4/25) was significantly lower than the control group 45.0%( 9/20)( P<0.05).Conclusion:The effect of minimally invasive locking compression plate fixation is remarkable in the treatment of elderly intertrochanteric fracture.
