Abstract Objective: To explore the clinical effect of Wuzhuyu Powder external application combined with rehabilitation movement in intervention of acute gastrointestinal injury (AGI) in critically ill patients. Method: A total of 60 critically ill patients with AGI symptoms who were admitted to Yangjiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2020 to January 2022 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment, and the observation group was treated with routine treatment combined with Wuzhuyu Powder external application + rehabilitation movement intervention. The clinical symptoms, acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ (APACHEⅡ) scores, and AGI scores of the two groups were recorded, and the curative effect was evaluated. Result: After treatment, the intra-abdominal pressure in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the recovery time of bowel sounds and defecation were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in abdominal circumference between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of APACHE Ⅱ and AGI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Wuzhuyu Powder external application combined with rehabilitation movement in critically ill patients with AGI can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, improve the health status of patients and obtain better curative effect.
