Abstract Objective: To explore the application effect of Shu Mu point tapping in patients with epilepsy (deficiency epilepsy syndrome) and insomnia (liver kidney insufficiency type). Method: Using the convenience sampling method, 120 patients who visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from February to June 2022 were divided into the control group and the experimental group according to the random number table methods, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine drug treatment and nursing, while the experimental group received Shu Mu point tapping on the basis of the control group at the same time, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scale score, Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scale score, clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical efficacy of western medicine in the two groups were statistically analyzed. Result: After one month and three months of intervention, the scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scale and PSQI scale were lower than those before intervention (P<0.05), those in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine and the total effective rate of western medicine in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The clinical effect of Shu Mu point tapping in the treatment of epilepsy (deficiency epilepsy syndrome) and insomnia (liver kidney insufficiency type) is good.
