Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of Jianpi Shugan Formula combined with Clomifene Citrate in the treatment of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) complicated with anxiety. Method: A total of 96 patients with PCOS complicated with anxiety who were treated in the outpatient Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Jiangxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital from December 2019 to December 2020 were included in the clinical study. Patients were randomly divided into control group (n=47) and treatment group (n=49). In ovulation induction treatment, the control group was given Clomifene Citrate, and the treatment group was given Jianpi Shugan Formula on the basis of the control group. The curative effect, hormone level, improvement of menstrual cycle and pregnancy rate were compared between the two groups. Result: The total effective rate in the treatment group was 81.63%, which was higher than 53.19% that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), testosterone (T) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, and the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The pregnancy rate in the control group was 23.40%, and that in the treatment group was 55.10%, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the effective rate of menstrual cycle improvement between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Jianpi Shugan Formula combined with Clomifene Citrate was more effective than Clomifene Citrate alone in improving the hormone levels, clinical efficacy and pregnancy rate of PCOS patients with anxiety.
