Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing mode on preventing postoperative deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower limb in patients with vertebral column fracture and spinal cord injury. Method: A total of 90 patients with vertebral column fracture and spinal cord injury who underwent surgical treatment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from January 2020 to August 2022 were randomly selected and divided into control group and experimental group according to double-blind method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the experimental group was given comprehensive nursing. The occurrence of postoperative DVT was compared between the two groups, and the coagulation indexes, hospital stay, degree of swelling and pain of lower limb and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Result: The incidence of DVT was 22.22% (10/45) in control group and 6.67% (3/45) in experimental group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the experimental group, 1 week after surgery, the prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time of the control group were shorter, and the levels of fibrinogen and D-dimer of the control group were higher, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with control group, lower extremity swelling degree and pain degree of experimental group were less, and hospital stay of experimental group was shorter, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the control group (80.00%), the total nursing satisfaction of experimental group (95.56%) was significantly higher, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The comprehensive nursing mode has a remarkable effect on preventing postoperative DVT of lower limbs in patients with vertebral column fracture and spinal cord injury, which can better meet the nursing needs of patients.
