| Clinical Effect of Haitongpi Decoction Fumigation and Steaming Combined with Massage Applied after Ankle Joint Fracture Surgery |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of Haitongpi Decoction fumigation and steaming combined with massage applied after ankle joint fracture surgery. Method: A total of 80 patients with ankle joint fracture who received surgical treatment in the Orthopedics Department of Chinese Medicine Hospital in Zhangshu from January 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the study objects, and were randomly divided into control group (n=60) and observation group (n=60) according to envelope method. The control group received routine functional rehabilitation treatment after surgery, and the observation group received Haitongpi Decoction fumigation and steaming combined with massage on the basis of the control group. The clinical effect, ankle joint range of motion, ankle joint function [American college of foot and ankle surgeons (AOFAS) ankle-hind foot score], pain degree [visual analogue scale (VAS)], quality of life [generic quality of life inventory (GQOLI-74)] and postoperative complication incidence between two groups were analyzed and compared. Result: The total effective rate of observation group (92.50%) was significantly higher than that of control group (75.00%) (P<0.05). The range of motion of ankle flexion, dorsiflexion, varus and valgus after surgery in the observation group were significantly greater than those in the control group (P<0.05). After surgery, the AOFAS score of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group, and the VAS score was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05). The GQOLI-74 score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The complication rate of observation group was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Haitongpi Decoction fumigation and steaming combined with massage after surgery for ankle joint fracture patients can not only improve the pain degree of patients, promote the recovery of ankle joint function, but also improve the quality of life of patients and reduce the occurrence of complications, and the therapeutic effect is very significant.
