Clinical Observation on the Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Constipation Type) of Deficiency of Lung-spleen Qi with Huangqi Decoction and Shenling Baizhu Powder |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of irritable bowel syndrome (constipation type) of Deficiency of lung-spleen Qi with Huangqi Decoction and Shenling Baizhu Powder. Method: From January 2021 to January 2022, 72 patients with irritable bowel syndrome (constipation type) of deficiency of lung-spleen Qi were selected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, 72 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 36 cases each. The treatment group was given Huangqi Decoction and Shenling Baizhu Powder, two times a day, one dose each time. The control group was given Linaclotide Capsules, and one capsule was taken 30 minutes before the first meal every day. Both groups were treated continuously for 4 weeks and followed up 4 weeks after drug withdrawal. The main symptom scores and quality of life scores of the two groups before and after treatment were observed, and the clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated. Result: Compared with the scores before treatment, the scores of abdominal pain discomfort, the average number of abdominal pain episodes within 10 days, abdominal distension at the time of assessment, stool satisfaction and life distress in the two groups decreased significantly after treatment (P<0.05), the quality of life score decreased significantly (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of symptoms and quality of life in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 94.4% (34/36) in the treatment group and 72.2% (26/36) in the control group. The treatment group was significantly better than the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Huangqi Decoction and Shenling Baizhu Powder can improve the main symptoms of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (constipation type) of Deficiency of lung-spleen Qi, improve their quality of life, and has satisfactory clinical efficacy, which is worth promoting.
