Abstract Objective:To understand the self monitoring of blood glucose situation(SMBG) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in rural area of Zengcheng city, and to discuss the effect of comprehensive intervention on SMBG. Method:Patients with type 2 diabetes situation in rural area of Zengcheng city were questioned with questionnaire survey form. A total of 250 questionnaires were issued, and 242 effective questionnaires were recovered.242 cases of patients were randomly divided into interventional group(n=106) and control group(n=136),patients in interventional group were given comprehensive intervention measures, and control group without any intervention, the effect of SMBG cognition, attitude, behavior and blood glucose control were compared.Result:In the 242 cases of patients, the rate of portable blood glucose meter was of 17.77%,the rate of SMBG was 16.12%,and the frequency of SMBG was 4.51 times per month. The primary reason of not SMBG was "blood glucose and blood glucose test paper were too expensive"(80.79%), and the second reason was "no need for SMBG"(70.44%).Only 17.95% patients with the correct knowledge of SMBG frequency, operation method and recording. The cognitive rate, supportive rate, monitorrate and fasting blood glucose standard rate were significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The SMBG status in patients with T2DM is relatively poor in rural area of Zengcheng city, and the compliance of SMBG is expected to be improved by comprehensive intervention.
