The Application Study of Self-management Manual in Noninvasive Ventilator Therapy at Home for COPD Patients

Abstract  Objective:To establish self management guidelines and specification of home nursing therapy for patients in COPD when using the noninvasive ventilator ,to improve ability patients’ self management and life quality. Method:Sixty cases of standard patients for study were collected, and then they were divided into two groups. The control group was given routine health education mode while the testing group was given related knowledge and operation skill training before hospital discharge.After discharge of hospital,the standardization of self management guidelines was applied as a manual mission.The patients of two groups were tested by questionnaire of breathing self management ability and questionnaire of SGRQ life quality to test the self management and life quality after using noninvasive ventilator. Result:The difference of self management of control group and test group before intervention had no statistical significance(P>0.05).While after six mouths’ intervention,the different self management questionnaire scores were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The self management guidelines of noninvasive ventilator and specification of home nursing therapy strengths patients’ ability of self management and improve the quality life of patients.
