Abstract Objective:To investigate the correlation of serum NT-proBNP and degree of chronic heart failure and its value in prognosis.Method:59 patients with chronic heart failure in our hospital from March 2013 to December 2014 were selected as the research objects. The serum NT-proBNP was tested by ECL method, the LVEF,LVEDD and some other indexes were measured by Philips IE33 color doppler ultrasonography, then the incidence of MACE in patients was recorded.Result:The level of NT-proBNP and the incidence of MACE in patients with LVEF ≥ 45% were significantly lower than those in patients with LVEF<45%.The incidence of MACE in patients with NT-proBNP<1500 pg/mL was significantly lower than that in patients with NT-proBNP ≥ 1500 pg/mL.The NT-proBNP and LVEDD enhanced according with the promoting of cardiac function classification, the LVEF reduced according with the promoting of cardiac function classification. The NT-proBNP and LVEDD in patients with MACE were significantly higher than those in patients without MACE,the LVEF in patients with MACE was significantly lower than that in patients without MACE.The area under the curve of NT-proBNP was significantly greater than those under the cardiac function,LVEDD and LVEF.The differences above were all statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Serum NT-proBNP and the degree of chronic heart failure shows a significant positive correlation. The higher level of serum NT-proBNP indicates the patients’ poor prognosis.
