Abstract Objective:To observe clinical influences of Liuwei Dihuang Pills combined Traditional Chinese Medicine( TCM) inunction on postoperative recovery of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, and provide theoretical basis for TCM combined with Western Medicine treatment in later periods.Method:From December 2013 to December 2014,68 postoperative patients were selected with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion admitted by the orthopedics department combining TCM and Western medicine, and they were divided into two groups depending on postoperative treatment,34 patients in control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, and 34 patients in research group were treated combined therapy of TCM inunction and Liuwei Dihuang Pills. Clinical efficacy, JOA score, quality of life score,VAS pain score and adverse reactions of patients between the two groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of the research group was relatively higher than that of the control group, but the rate of adverse reactions was lower, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The JOA scores of the research group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS score before and after treatment of the two groups showed statistically differences(P<0.05),and those of the research group after treatment were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the QLO-C30 life quality scores of the research group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Liuwei Dihuang Pills combined TCM deliver great treatment efficacy for the treatment of postoperative lumbar disc protrusion when compared to conventional Western medicine treatment, improve postoperative pain and lumbar function of patients, and the patients quality of life, and impose low rate of adverse reactions, being worthy of clinically safe and effective way to promote.
