Abstract Objective：To study and analyze the clinical effect of vertebral pedicle screw by paraspinal approach in the treatment of patients with thoracic and lumbar fractures.Method：66 patients with thoracic and lumbar fractures in our hospital from January 2013 to June 2014 were selected as research objects，and all the patients were divided into the control group（conventional operation by posterior approach group） and the observation group（vertebral pedicle screw by paraspinal approach group） according to the operation methods，33 cases in each group.Then the operation time，intraoperative blood loss，postoperative pain state and related parameters of vertebral body before and after the operation of the two groups were respectively analyzed and compared. Result：The operation time of the observation group was significantly shorter than that of control group，the intraoperative blood loss was significantly less than that of control group，the postoperative pain degree was significantly lighter than that of control group，the related parameters of vertebral body 1 month and 6 months after the operation were all significantly better than those of control group，the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）. Conclusion：The clinical effect of vertebral pedicle screw by paraspinal approach in the treatment of patients with thoracic and lumbar fractures is better，and its comprehensive application value is higher.
