Comparative Efficacy of Early Short Methylprednisolone Pulse Therapy and Dexamethasone in Treatment of Children with Severe Viral Encephalitis |

Abstract Objective:To investigate the efficacy of early short methylprednisolone pulse therapy and dexamethasone in treatment of children with severe viral encephalitis.Method:120 cases with severe viral encephalitis were selected from our hospital during the period from June 2012 to June 2014, they were randomly divided into observation group and control group accordance to a digital list france, the observation group was early methylprednisolone
pulse therapy using short, the control group was treated with dexamethasone, the symptoms and signs the recovery time, and clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared.Result:(1) Clinical symptoms and signs recovery time of the observation group was significantly shorter than recovery time of the control group, the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05).(2) Effect good rate of the observation group was significantly higher than the that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05).Conclusion:Early short methylprednisolone pulse therapy in treatment of children with severe viral encephalitis has exact clinical efficacy, and can be restored as soon as the patient signs and symptoms.
