Abstract The fixation of femoral neck fracture in adults is an enormous challenge in traumatic orthopedics. Although traditional internal fixation methods such as cannulated compression screw internal fixation and dynamic hip screw internal fixation have been widely used in clinical practice and have achieved specific efficacy, however, the incidence of postoperative complications such as fracture nonunion and femoral head necrosis is still high. Therefore, some new types of internal fixation have emerged, such as the femoral neck system and dynamic compression locking system. In this paper, the results of clinical and biomechanical studies about the new internal fixation modalities will be compared with the previous internal fixation modalities to provide some references in selecting treatment modalities for adult patients with femoral neck fractures.
