The Effect of Daily Work Routine on Performance of Head Nurses |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the effect of daily work path on performance of head nurse, and improve their work efficiency. Method: Eighteen wards of our hospital from March 1, 2014 to March 31, 2014 were set as control group, and the same 18 wards from April 1, 2014 to April 30, 2014 were set as observation group. In the control group,the performance of head nurses was evaluated in the conventional way, while in the observation group, a daily work routine was established as required by their work, and the head nurses were asked to work according to the work routine every day and evaluate quality assessment. Rate of qualified basic care, rate of improper administration, satisfaction of patients,and satisfaction of fellow nurses with the head nurses were then compared between the two groups. Result: Compared to the control group, the observation group showed much higher rate of qualified basic care, satisfaction of patients,and satisfaction of fellow nurses, and lower rate of improper administration( P<0.01), with statistical significance. Conclusion: The establishment of daily work routine and evaluate can help head nurses better review and improve the quality of ward nursing, so it is a mode worth spreading.
