Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of Xiaoer Feire Kechuan Granules combined with Azithromycin in the treatment of children with bronchopneumonia and its influence on the levels of C reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT) and eosinophil (EOS). Method: A total of 92 children with bronchopneumonia who were admitted to Tai'an Maternity and Child Health Hospital from May 2021 to September 2022 were selected and divided into a research group (n=46) and a control group (n=46) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Azithromycin, and the research group was treated with Xiaoer Feire Kechuan Granules combined with Azithromycin. The clinical efficacy, pulmonary function and the levels of CRP, PCT and EOS were compared between the two groups. Result: The total effective rate of the research group (93.48%) was higher than that of the control group (78.26%) (P<0.05). After treatment, the tidal volume (TV), forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) increased, the respiratory rate (RR) decreased in both groups, and the TV, FVC and FEV1 in the research group were higher than those in the control group, and the RR was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP, PCT and EOS in both groups decreased, and those in the research group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Xiaoer Feire Kechuan Granules combined with Azithromycin in the treatment of children with bronchopneumonia can improve the clinical efficacy, improve the pulmonary function of children and reduce the levels of CRP, PCT and EOS.
