Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical results of external fixation in distal radius fractures.Method: 60 cases of distal radius fractures were treated in our hospital from January 2012 to January 2014 were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group,30 cases in each group. The experimental group was given external fixator, and the control group was underwent small splints, the effect of two groups were compared. Result: Excellent experimental group was 93.3%, significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); and the experimental group of inclination and ulnar inclination in the palm after fracture healing were respectively( 13.2±1.7) ° and( 26.3±2.6) °,significantly higher than in the control group (P<0.05); the experimental group complication rate was 6.7%, significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: External fixation of distal radius fractures has significant effect, simple operation, less invasive, fewer complications and other advantages, worthy of clinical application.
