Abstract Objective: To probe into the clinical effects and safety of Gegen Qinlian Decoction on patientswith acute enteritis. Method:68 patients who suffered from acute enteritis and accepted treatment in our hospital fromMarch 2010 to September 2013 were selected as the research objects, and these patients were randomly divided into thecontrol group and the observation group, with 34 patients in each group. In the control group, they were treated with theazithromycin tablets, while the observation group were treated with the Gegen Qinlian Decoction. Then, the curativeeffects of both groups after the treatment were compared.Result: The whole response in the observation group was 91.18%,comparing with 70.59% in the control group, and the differences had the statistical significance(P<0.05).In addition, after treatment, the symptom score of two groups also had marked significance, with the symptom score in observation
group evidently lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Furthermore, in the control group, the rate of untowardeffects in the control group was 50.00% and that in the observation group was 2.94%, which also indicated that thedifferences had the statistical significance(P<0.05). Conclusion:The treatment effect of Gegen Qinlian Decoction onpatients with acute enteritis is evident, which can decrease the untoward effects, act on the lesions rapidly and improve the
symptoms. Thus,it is worth promoting further in the clinical applications.
