Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of Compound Taizishen Granules in the treatment of infantile anorexia. Method: The clinical data of 310 children with anorexia treated in Xiamen Children's Hospital from February 2018 to February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into the observation group (n=160, treated with Compound Taizishen Granules) and the control group (n=150, treated with Zinc Gluconate Oral Solution). The therapeutic effects, the changes of TCM syndrome scores, trace elements (iron, zinc) and serum related factors (leptin, NPY, Ghrelin) of the two groups were compared. Result: The total effective rate of the observation group (88.75%) after treatment was higher than that of the control group (73.33%) (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of food intake, bad breath, stool character, abdominal distension) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the above scores of the observation group [(1.72±0.31), (1.29±0.21), (1.45±0.21), (1.52±0.28) points] were significantly lower than those in the control group [(2.41±0.34), (1.78±0.24), (1.99±0.42), (2.01±0.30) points] (P<0.05). After treatment, both groups of trace elements (iron, zinc) increased compared to before treatment, and those [(15.21±2.94), (14.21±1.94) μmol/L] in the observation group were higher than those [(13.21±2.51), (11.01±1.67) μmol/L] in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the leptin levels in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and that in the observation was lower than that in the control group, the levels of NPY and Ghrelin in two groups were higher than those before treatment, the levels of NPY and Ghrelin in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no abnormal liver and kidney function and no significant intestinal reaction in both groups after treatment. Conclusion: Compound Taizishen Granules has an ideal effect in the treatment of infantile anorexia, can effectively regulate the levels of trace elements and serum cytokines, and has no adverse reactions during the treatment period, and it is safety.
