Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of TCM treatment based on syndrome differentiation combined with mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy on survival rate and quality of life of patients with mid-to-advanced liver cancer undergoing interventional therapy. Method: A total of 58 patients with mid-to-advanced liver cancer underwent interventional therpy admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January to July 2021 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into two groups according to random number table method, with 29 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received conventional treatment, and patients in the study group received TCM treatment based on syndrome differentiation combined with mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy on the basis of the control group. TCM syndromes score, mental toughness, cancer-related tiredness, quality of life and 3 and 6 months after treatment of survival rate were compared between the two groups. Result: There were no significant differences in self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS) and cancer-related tiredness scale scores between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05); after treatment, the scores of the above indexes in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of TCM symptoms in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of quality of life in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The survival rates of the study group at 3 and 6 months after treatment were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of TCM treatment based on syndrome differentiation combined with mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy in patients with mid-to-advanced liver cancer undergoing interventional therapy can alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of patients, improve the mental toughness of patients, improve the quality of life and increase the survival rate.
