Abstract Objective: To observe the effect of prone position general anesthesia on postoperative cognitive function in patients with orthopaedic surgery, provide reference for clinical practice and guidance. Method: 40 patients ith orthopaedic surgery in our hospital were selected as the clinical research objects, according to operation position, they were randomly divided into the supine position group and prone position group, 20 cases in each group. The two groups of patients were given the same anesthesia method. The cognitive function of the two groups before and after anesthesia were mainly observed, the influence of postural differences on postoperative cognitive function of patients was analyzed. Result: The supine position group and the prone position group occurred after surgery postoperative cognitive impairment, but the incidence of cognitive dysfunction in prone position group was significantly higher than that of the supine position group, recovered more slowly, the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05). Conclusion: The prone and supine position under general anesthesia orthopaedic surgery may occur the postoperative cognitive dysfunction, but the incidence of cognitive dysfunction in prone position is significantly higher, cognitive function recovery time is also significantly slower, so should choose a more scientific and reasonable postures of patients with general anesthesia, to ensure the postoperative quality of life of patients.
