Abstract Objective: To analyze breast conserving therapy prognosis for breast cancer. Method:100 cases of patients with breast cancer from January 2013 to January 2014 in our hospital were selected and divided into observation group and control group based on different treatment methods,50 cases in each group. Observation group was given breast-conserving therapy, namely segmental mastectomy or extensive mass resection+axillary lymph node dissection,
while control group was given modified radical mastectomy+axillary lymph node dissection. Recurrence, metastasis and survival rate of both groups were compared.Result: Breast cosmetic effect of the observation group: excellent for 27cases( 54.0%), good for 13 cases( 26.0%), fair for 9 cases( 18.0%) and poor for 1 case( 2.0%),and good rate of 80.0%( 40 cases); recurrence rate and metastasis differences of both groups were not statistically significant( P>0.05);postoperative complication rates of observation group and control group were respectively 6% and 10%, the difference was
not significant( P>0.05); survival rate after 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years of the observation group and control group had
no significant difference(P>0.05). Conclusion: Strict indication control is necessary for breast conserving therapy on the treatment of patients with breast cancer. There is no significant difference in survival rate, recurrence, and metastasis with traditional modified radical operation. But its cosmetic results are better, with improvement of patients’ quality of life.Breast-conserving therapy pays more attention on comprehensive treatment, with positive clinical results, which is worth
promotion.
