Abstract Objective：To investigate the effects of abnormal fetal head position on the birth process and maternal and child.Method：56 cases pregnant women with abnormal fetal head position（test group） and 56 cases pregnant women with normal fetal head position（ control group）were selected in the hospital from December 2012 to August 2014.The birth process and the effect on maternal and child were compared. Result：The effective rate was 64.29% in the test group，the effective rate was 89.29% in the control group；42.86% of maternal in test group can be spontaneous vaginal delivery， while 89.29% of maternal in control group can be spontaneous vaginal delivery capacity. The incidence of adverse reactions were 48.21% in test group，the incidence of adverse reactions were 23.21% in control group，the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion：Abnormal fetal head position has great impact on the birth process and the maternal and child.Therefore，clinicians should attach much importance on the pregnant woman who was prenally diagnosed of abnomal fetal head position.Doing prenatal preparations and closely monitoring the birth process and timely dealing with the abnormal reactions that occurred in the birth process.
