Abstract Calcium plays a vital role in cell survival process， such as intracellular signaling， protein folding，enzyme activation and start programmed cell death. Stromal interaction raction molecule 1（ STIM1） transmembrane protein within the cells of the endoplasmic reticulum， as endoplasmic reticulum calcium ion sensor can be combined with membrane proteins under Orai1 involved in the regulation of intracellular calcium concentration.Calcium imbalance has been linked to a variety of cardiovascular diseases，this paper were reviewed by STIM1 in cardiovascular-related diseases.
