Effect of Standardized Management of Painless Ward in Application of Perioperation Period of Thoracolumbar Burst Fractures |

Abstract Objective: To observe the effect of standardized painless ward management applied in perioperation period of open operation for thoracolumbar burst fracture. Method: 80 cases were included in this study. 40 cases were selected randomly as study group, accepting standardized painless ward management in perioperation period. Meanwhile,40 patients were selected as control group, accepting routine nursing management in perioperation period. The observation indexes were pain visual analogue scale( VAS) and the Houston pain questionnaire( HPOI). Result: At the time of admission and the day of operation, there was no significant difference in pain score between the two groups. 1 day before operation, 3 days after operation and at discharge, pain score of study group was significantly lower than that of the control group( P<0.05). Mean score of pain satisfaction of study group was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant( P<0.01). Conclusion: The application of painless ward management in perioperation period of open operation for thoracolumbar burst fracture is successful. To provide more professional pain nursing service for patients, improvement of management is also necessary.
