Abstract Objective：To evaluate the quality of death case reporting in county and above level medical institution of Henan province in 2013.Method：The death cases information about reporting network system reported from county and above level medical institution of Henan province in 2013 were selected，county reporting rate，eligibility rate of reporting，auditing rate，eligibility rate of auditing， and the accuracy of underlying cause of death coding were applied to the assessment of reporting deaths.Result：The total county reporting rate was 95.27%，eligibility rate of reporting was 88.27%，average auditing rate was 99.9%，eligibility rate of auditing was 98.49%；the accuracy of underlying cause of death coding was 7.93 ％ .Conclusion：Although the quality of death case reporting in county and above levels medical institutes had greatly increased，quality of death coding is dissatisfactory，which indicated that the training on ascertainment and coding of underlying death causes were quite essential.
