Abstract Metacarpal neck fractures often suffer from shock when a fist metacarpal bones convey violence caused mostly transverse fracture, are unstable fracture, surgery should be reset, help restore hand function. Because of the need to complete the fine hand movements on fracture healing after the appearance, functions have higher requirement, to select appropriate method of treatment is important. Currently metacarpal neck fractures in patients, the use of external fixation, internal fixation method of treatment has been applied to routine clinical treatment, its efficacy has been clinically recognized. This paper reviews the concepts metacarpal neck fractures, surgical reduction mechanism, metacarpal neck fractures checks, external fixation, internal fixation, drug treatment, progress functional exercise, and other aspects of postoperative treatment and sequelae.
