Abstract Objective:To compare the clinical value of spiral CT with high-frequency ultrasound in the diagnosis of atypical acute appendicitisl.Method:To retrospectively analyze the medical records of 50 patients with clinical diagnosis of atypical acute appendicitisl. Before surgery, patients were given spiral CT and high frequency ultrasound examination to surgery-pathology results as the gold standard, the results of the spiral CT and high-frequency ultrasonography were compared and analyzed.Result:Pathological diagnosis:normal appendix 17 cases, 33 cases of acute appendicitis( 12 cases of edema, cellulitis for 12 cases, 9 cases of gangrenous).Spiral CT diagnosis of acute appendicitis atypical sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were significantly higher than those of the high-frequency ultrasound between the two groups, which was statistically significantly different( P<0.05).Spiral CT in acute edema and cellulitis appendicitis diagnosis the correct rate was higher than that of the high-frequency ultrasound, the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05); for gangrenous appendicitis, spiral CT were correctly diagnosed with high-frequency ultrasound, the accuracy was 100%, the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion:In the diagnosis of acute appendicitis in the atypical, the spiral CT high-frequency ultrasound advantage. For suspected acute appendicitis in patients with atypical, such as high-frequency ultrasound examination is negative, should further spiral CT scan to confirm the diagnosis.
