Objective：To evaluate and compare the effects of anterior approach preperitoneal repair of inguinal hernia with 3DMax mesh and　UHS mesh.Method： 90 patients were treated by inguinal hernia repair during June 2010 and June 2013 in our hospital，including the operation time，wound infection and swelling complications，time for recovery to normal life and work，short-term（0.5-1.0 year after operation）recurrence rate，pain in 4 weeks，chronic pain and the occurrence rate of foreign body sensation in 6 months of two groups were compared.Result：There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the operation time，time for recovery，postoperative pain or neuralgia in 4 weeks（P>0.05）.However，compared with 3DMax mesh UHS mesh caused more chronic pain or neuralgia in 4 weeks and foreign body sensation in 6 months after operation，the differences were statistical difference（P<0.05）.No incision infection or hematoma showed in the two groups and no relapse found one year after operation. Conclusion：3DMax mesh has similar clinical effects with UHS mesh in inguinal hernia repair，but with a lower complication rate，it is prospectively a better clinical method for repairing hernia in future.
