Abstract Objective: To study the curative effect of dual antiplatelet aggregation and intensive lipid lowering on posterior circulation infarction patients with basilar artery stenosis. Method: Fifty posterior circulation infarction patients with basilar artery stenosis were randomly allocated into control group and observation group. Patients in the control group were treated by antiplatelet aggregation and conventional lipid lowering treatment. Observation group was given dual antiplatelet aggregation and intensive lipid lowering treatment. Course of treatment lasted three weeks. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale( NIHSS) was tested before therapy and after the treatment of 1, 2, 3 weeks. Result: Efficiency was 92.0% in the observation group, nerve function defect treatment effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group( P<0.01). Both of the two groups had no severe hemorrhage and muscular aches. Conclusion: Short time of aspirin, clopidogrel dual antiplatelet aggregation combined with intensive lipid lowering treatment on posterior circulation infarction patients with basilar artery stenosis is better than aspirin alone and conventional lipid lowering group; and no severe hemorrhage happens.
