Abstract Objective: To report clinical efficacy of vacuum sealing drainage( VSD) and deep irrigation technique in the treatment of lower limbs’ infectious wounds with bone exposed. Method: From April 2009 to August 2011, 32 cases of lower limbs’ infectious wound with bone exposed were treated in our department. They were randomly divided into vacuum sealing drainage and deep irrigation technique treated group( A group) and VSD technique treated group (B group). From the treatment time and postoperative complications to comparative analyze. Result: The 32 cases were followed up from 12 to 24 months, with an average of 18.2 months. No deep infection recurrence. The wounds were closed after VSD and deep irrigation technique for 5 to 18 days, with an average 9.6 days, and the wounds were closed after VSD technique for 10 to 21 days, with an average 15.6 days( P<0.05). Conclusion: VSD combined with deep irrigation technique can give full play to VSD and deep irrigation technique’s advantage, be helpful for infection control and early closed wounds.
