Abstract Objective：To explore the impact of Non-nutritive sucking on low birth weight children with electrocardiographic（ ECG）indicators and digestive function. Method：124 low birth weight children from the First Child Health Hospital of huizhou city that from June 2013 to October 2014 were randomly divided into observation group and control group，62 cases in each group，the newborns in the control group were used Enteral nutrition through a stomach tube feeding.and the newborns in the observation group were used non-nutritive sucking on the basis of the control group. Result：The Abnormal heart rhythms rate in the control group was 4.8% that was significantly lower than that was 17.7% in the observation group.The Bowel sounds normal rate in the control group was 96.8 % that was significantly higher than that was 82.3% in the observation group.the spits incidence was 3.2% in the control group that was significantly lower than that was 12.9% in the observation group.The abdominal distension incidence was 14.5% in the control group that was significantly lower than that was 12.9% in the observation group.The Fully meet the gastrointestinal feeding days was （15.3±2.3）d in the control group that was significantly lower than that was（ 18.7±2.6）d in the observation group，and the Indwelling tube days was（ 12.7±2.3）d in the control group that was significantly lower than that was（ 17.3±3.0）d in the observation group.Conclusion：Non-nutritive sucking could effectively reduce the incidence of abnormal heart rhythms rate， reduced spits， the incidence of diarrhea， and promote recovery of gastrointestinal function， reduce gastric retention time.
