Theapeutic Effect of Combining 1064nm Nd:YAG Laser and Collagen dressing on Moderate Acne/

Abstract  Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of combining 1064nm Nd:YAG laser and collagen dressing for the treatment of moderate acne.Method:The 128 moderate acne cases were divided into laser treatment group of 44cases, laser and collagen dressing group of 44cases and control group of 40cases.The patients were treated for 4 sessions in a week interval and were treated with roxithromycin meanwhile.The laser was set to 35~40 J/cm2, with a 35 ms pulse duration, a repetition rate of 1.5 Hz and a spot size of 4 mm in diameter.In laser and collagen dressing group,after the laser treatment, each patient was given a collagen dressing for 30 min, and another collagen dressing 3 days later.Cases in control group were treated with roxithromycin.The efficacy was evaluated 4 weeks after the treatment.Result:The markedly effective rate in laser group and laser jion collagen dressing group 4 weeks after the treatment was 90.1% and 93.1% respectively, significantly higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05).A follow-up of 2 months revealed the combination of 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser and collagen dressing improved the postinflammatory hyperpigmentation significantly,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser and collagen dressing could be a useful treatment alternative for patients with moderate acne.
