The Evalution and Analysis of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease Prescription in the Outpatient of Our Hospital from 2011 to 2013

Abstract  Objective: To understand the incidence and feature in choosing drugs of hand-foot-mouth disease in the outpatient of our hospital,in order to provide a scientific basis for prevention care and control for hand-foot-mouth disease. Method:24 000 prescriptions( 8000 prescriptions/year,2000 prescriptions/quarter) of pediatric outpatient were taken randomly from January 2011 to December 2013 in our hospital, the part of them were hand-foot-mouth diseases prescription, which should be evaluated.Result: From 2011 to 2013, the number of cases in proportion to the total number cases of the outpatient in our hospital were respectively 2.95%,3.21%,and 3.70%.The number of child mortality under the age of 6 were 744 cases, which accounted for 94.30% of the total prescriptions, and children under the age of 3 accounted for 66.20%, and the morbidity peak was from May to July.In our hospital, we mostly based on antiviral treatment to treat hand-foot-mouth disease in the outpatient.Under the guidance and intervention of clinical pharmacists when secondary bacterial infection. According to the illness of children, we used reasonable combination of vitamins,immune enhancer, corticosteroids and other drugs. Conclusion: There is an upward trend in incidence of hand-footmouth diseases in the outpatient of our hospital, the disease has obvious seasonal characteristic, our hospital mostly based on antiviral treatment to treat hand-foot-mouth disease in the outpatient.Under the guidance and intervention of clinical pharmacists, we use antimicrobial agents rationally and ensure the drug safety of children.
