Abstract Objective：To study the effect of humanistic nursing care in conscious patients with physical restraint in ICU.Method：90 conscious patients with physical restraint in ICU were selected and divided into the control group and the experimental group，45 patients in each group.The control group was given conventional nursing care， while the experimental group was given humanistic nursing care besides the same basis.The changes of physical restraint rate，extent of satisfaction of nursing and the occurrence of adverse results were observed and compared between two groups. Result：The physical restraint rate， extent of satisfaction of nursing and adverse results in the experimental group were better than those in the control group， the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion：Humanistic nursing care is helpful to decreasing physical restraint for conscious patients in ICU， thus reducing the occurrence of nursing adverse results and improving the satisfaction of nursing.
