Abstract Objective:To detect the S100B protein change levels in cerebrospinal fluid(Cerebrospinal fluid,CSF) and serum after moderate and severe craniocerebral injury to study the time correlation of levels in cerebrospinal fluidand serum. Method:48 cases were selected as the control group, the levels of S100B protein in serum and cerebrospinalfluid were determined. 96 patients with moderate and severe craniocerebral niocerebral injury( GCS 6-12 scores) were selected,
their serum and cerebrospinal fluid were collected and the concentration of S100B protein,1,3,5,7,14,21 drespectively after injury were detected.Result:After moderate and severe craniocerebral injury, the levels of S100Bprotein in the serum and Cerebrospinal fluid of patients changed with time. The peaks of S100B protein in CSF and serumwere both occurrrd at the first day and the third day after injury, CSF and serum S100B protein levels were higher than
control group , the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05) at each time points, the S100B protein levels inCSF and serum existed a certain correlation after a period time of injury. Conclusion:The levels of S100B protein incerebrospinal fluid and serum are closely related with each other, but this correlation gradually reduced as the time goneby.
