Abstract Objective:To evaluate the osteogenesis effects when Anklyos implants were placed by closed sinus elevation technique without bone grafting materials. Method:42 patients with inadequate bone height in maxillary posterior area and Anklyos implants were placed by closed sinus elevation technique without bone grafting materials were evaluated. Each patient was tested by CBCT before implant sugery, 6 months after surgery and 1 year after restoration. The sagittal plane across the implant center was selected to measure the new bone formation.Result:Compared with the original bone height, the new bone height was( 3.20±0.45)mm at the mesial surface and( 3.45±0.65)mm at the distal surface six months after implant placement, while( 3.36±0.43)mm at the mesial surface and( 3.53±0.48)mm at the distal surface 12 months after restoration. Conclusion:When there is not enough bone height in maxillary posterior area, an outstanding osteogenesis effects can be achieved by placing Ankylosimplants via closed sinus elevation technique even without bone grafting materials.
