Abstract Objective：To observe benazepril with metoprolol therapy in elderly patients with hypertension combined heart failure clinical curative effect.Method：136 elderly patients with primary hypertension with heart failure were randomly divided into two groups，68 cases in each group，two groups accepted foundation treatment，the control group was treated with metoprolol，the observation group adopted the split with metoprolol therapy.To compare blood pressure，LVEDD，LVESD，LVEF，6 minutes walk test cardiac function indexes of the two groups such as a course of six months.Result：（1） The observation group total effective rate was 95.59%，the control group was 79.41%，the observation group was significantly better than the control group，the difference was statistically significant（ P<0.05）.（2） Compared before treatment，blood pressure，heart rate，6 min walking test，LVEDD，LVESD，LVEF index of the two groups were significantly improved，with statistically significant difference（ P<0.05），the observation group improved more obviously.Conclusion：Benazepril with metoprolol therapy in elderly patients with hypertension antihypertensive effect is remarkable，but also can improve cardiac function in patients with and avoid the deterioration of hypertension and its complications of heart failure，and is worth popularizing in clinical application.
